Paris 1

This is the first of our two stays in Paris.  The other one will be at the end of the trip.

We landed in Paris at 6:40 AM, took the bus to the metro, and then the metro to Ecole Militaire Place.  Then the problem was to find Hotel de la Tour Eiffel.  As you can tell by the name, it was near the Eiffel Tower.  However, that is a large area.  Jeanie used her french to find the street, but it was a challenge.

The next day, Jeanie's friend Solange joined us for the day.  She has been a pen pal of Jeanie's since 7th grade!  She last saw her in 1980, but have been in regular contact over the years.  We have already seen most of the famous spots in Paris, so visited a less common place this time: the Musee de l'Armie.  Here are some pictures:

Jeanie in front of the Arc de Triumph.  We walked the Champs de Elysee window shopping.  The weather was more like March in Minnesota, cold and windy.  Paris is at 48 degrees North latitude, and St. Paul is at 45 degrees, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.
